Dr Olivia Remes is a Programme Director and researcher at the University of Cambridge, bestselling author, speaker, and executive coach. Her work has been featured internationally by BBC World, National Public Radio in the US, Channel News Asia, the Times of India, and Le Social in France, among others.
At the University of Cambridge, Olivia is the Programme Director of “Leading Mental Health in the Workplace” programme, aimed at those in leadership positions. Through the programme, Olivia supports participants in bringing an extra dimension to their leadership – one which allows them to increase the effectiveness of their organisation as a whole. It helps leaders to develop knowledge, strategies and practical tools to secure the health of their business.
Over the past decade, Olivia Remes has developed a system of coping strategies that help people thrive and flourish in spite of obstacles; attain mental wellbeing; and overcome anxiety, depression, and stress. She has delivered seminars and webinars on mental wellbeing to organisations around the world, such as Samsung and Kaizen, helping people learn how to become resilient in spite of adversity and change, such as this covid pandemic. She has been invited to speak on podcasts (e.g., Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place, TED Radio Hour in the US) and radio shows (e.g., BBC stations) around the world on the topic of mental health.
She has written extensively about mental health and wellbeing, and her work has been republished in the UK, US, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Taiwan, India, Singapore, Poland, Russia, and Germany.
Olivia Remes is also an executive coach as well as a life coach, and helps people let go of fear and face challenges with a calm, determined mindset. She draws on several disciplines and uses frameworks to inform and ground her practice, and uses robust, validated tools to measure client progress.
She has given TED talks viewed over 2 million times, writes for Vogue, and is a regular contributor to BBC Cambridgeshire radio. Her book, The Instant Mood Fix, was released in May 2021, is published by Penguin Random House, and became a best-seller in its category.
