Katja Dofel studied economics, political science and English literature at University in Munich and Edinburgh.
She worked as a freelance journalist for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Deutsche Presseagentur and Radio Arabella. She also spent several years as a foreign correspondent in New York, and during this time she worked at the United Nations in the Department of Political Affairs.
In 1999 Katja Dofel returned to Germany to work for the Financial Times Deutschland, and then in 2000 she became a presenter for n-tv on business and the stock markets as well as Bureau Head in Frankfurt. The highlight of her career so far was 14 July 2010, as n-tv’s 15 year presence on the New York Stock Exchange presented with them with the opportunity to open up trade. Katja Dofel and her co-presenter Markus Koch rang the bell.
Her broad area of interests and her varied experience means that she can comment on economic and geo-political topics and has moderated at numerous conferences on these themes, both in German and English.
Katja Dofel is also a skilled media trainer and has coached many seniors managers on communicating with the press and on television.
