Matthew Griffin is an AI expert, educator and author of the Codex of the Future series, an indispensable guide to what the future holds for humankind. NASA has gone so far as to describe him as the world’s only “futurist polymath.” Griffin’s 30-year career has taken him to IBM, where he was global head of Public Safety and National Security (PSNS) and Global Head of Cloud at Atos, Europe’s largest systems integrator firm. He also worked at EMC on its enterprise sales teams before its acquisition by Dell.
Matthew’s experience gives him unique insight into how exponential technologies such as AI, robotics, blockchain, quantum computing and 3D printing will lead to exponential rates of change in business, culture and society, all at an augmented speed. He tracks over 600 powerful exponential technologies and hundreds of mega trends in order to advise clients, which include several Fortune 50 and Global 250 companies.
Matthew is an experienced speaker who has advised world leaders, royal families, all of the G7 and G20 governments, as well as many of the G77 governments on how to navigate the complexities of the next half-century. Global brands who have listened to his keynotes include Accenture, ABB, Adidas, AON, ARM, BCG, Centrica, Citi, Coca Cola, Dentons, Deloitte, Disney, DLA Piper, EY, Google, KPMG, Lego, Legal & General, LinkedIn, Microsoft, PepsiCo, Qualcomm, RWE, Samsung, T-Mobile, UBS and Visa, amongst others. Matthew Griffin has spoken at the UN numerous times and in 2023 was the only futurist invited to address the COP28 conference in Dubai.
In 2016 Matthew Griffin founded the 311 Institute, incorporating the XPotential University, which aims to build future-ready curriculums for schools and governments. He believes that AI is a force for good in education, believing that it can increase the speed at which children learn by up to twelve times. He has partnered with T-Mobile to transform and upgrade education in the US and works with some of the UK’s leading private schools. He is an adviser to Western and Asian governments on the future of education, jobs and skills, and lectures on technology, AI and leadership at UCL, Greenwich, Carnegie Mellon and Michigan State Universities, as well as providing mentorship to students on an individual level.
