He spent ten years as CIO and Director of Sustainability at the Haas F1 Team, where his introduction of cutting-edge technology, industry-leading innovation and knowledge of data helped take them from inception to a hugely successful F1 team.

His role is crucial in maintaining best-in-class technology solutions for the team’s data-driven environment, as they work towards this ambitious target.
Gary’s career began at Cosworth Technology, where he supported various racing series. His roles at Honda Racing F1, Brawn GP, and Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Ltd contributed to multiple World Championship victories, working with drivers such as Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. Most recently, he spent 10 years as CIO and Director of Sustainability at Haas F1, overseeing all technology operations at the factory and track, where he used his experience to drive innovation and performance at the last true racing team in Formula 1. He has recently switched to GMPPU, having been selected by the CEO specifically for his skills in rapid infrastructure scaling, careful risk management and innovative approach to technology.
Gary is a Fellow of the British Computing Society and has been recognised as one of the top 100 Chief Information Officers in the UK five years in a row (2021 to 2025 inc.). He serves on the board of trustees of Tove Learning Trust, and he actively supports STEM education.
