Biography

How can your organisation harness AI to unlock confidence, creativity, and purposeful innovation?

Instead of letting uncertainty slow progress, Stephanie Antonian helps leaders reframe AI as a catalyst for flourishing cultures. With experience spanning Google [x], DeepMind, and her independent AI lab Aestora, she shows how organisations can move beyond fear and design human-first strategies that inspire clarity, collaboration, and action.

Stephanie’s journey is a powerful story of unexpected connections. Starting with a Master’s in Biblical Studies, she later discovered a passion for the world of technology, which led her to business strategy roles at Accenture and Google. Recognizing the profound societal impact of AI, she won the UK’s Frank Knox Fellowship in 2016 to pursue a Master’s in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, where she specialized in data privacy.

This unique combination of theology, business, and policy almost accidentally placed her at the forefront of the AI revolution. She joined DeepMind early, helping them to establish their ethics team and set the AI ethics agenda, as well as conducting research for NASA. After a deeply personal career break as a palliative carer for her father, she returned to Alphabet to support social justice initiatives at Google [x], also known as X – the Moonshot Factory, managing projects and designing new concepts.

Driven by a desire for more direct impact, she founded her own independent lab, where she developed products like the Digital Health Score and the Algorithmic Bias Eraser, championing a human-first approach to AI. Her essays on Aestora.com, exploring the intersection of AI and human values, have resonated with thousands of readers, cementing her as a powerful voice in the field. She continues to write, consult, and design, and is also a Fellow at the Institute for the Future of Work.
