Shreya Patel also addressed the critical subject of “Mental Health in Media Production” at Academia in Slovenia, Balkans, and spoke powerfully on domestic human trafficking in her talk, “It’s Time to Girl Up” at the Council Chambers in Toronto, Canada. Notably, she was a sought-after speaker at the Munich International Film Festival, where she used the power of storytelling to capture the essence of the human spirit. Proving her versatility, Shreya has shone in various panels, podcasts, and interviews, sharing her unique insights and experiences. Her significant contributions include directing the documentary “Girl Up,” which tackles the harsh reality of domestic human trafficking.
This impactful project was created in partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival. During the COVID pandemic, Shreya directed a globally inclusive documentary, “Unity – #LOVESPREADS Faster Than Virus,” featuring perspectives from 66 countries which was the closing film at the Munich Film Festival. She also directed the viral music video “Freedom Dance,” amassing over 1.2 million views on YouTube. Acknowledged as one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women of Canada and recognized by Forbes Under 30.
