Robert Hannigan was Director of GCHQ, the UK’s largest technical and cybersecurity agency, from 2014-17. Robert established the UK National Cyber Security Centre in 2016 and was responsible for the UK’s first cyber strategy in 2009.

Robert is now Chairman of BlueVoyant International, a cybersecurity services company, and a Senior Adviser to McKinsey & Co. He is a Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center, and Harvard. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, London, and an Honorary Fellow at Oxford University.

Robert Hannigan writes and speaks regularly on cyber issues in the Financial Times, BBC and elsewhere.

Alongside Professor Sadie Creese of Oxford University, he recently published a ‘Review of Cybersecurity for the Industrial Internet of Things.’
