Biography

Nima Abu Wardeh is an award winning journalist, columnist and broadcaster. Regarded as a thought leader, she is approached by think-tanks, the corporate world and government entities for her insight.

 

Abu Wardeh presented BBC World’s business and finance programme, Middle East Business Report for its 11 year lifetime and was part of the team that set it up. Before the launch of MEBR, Abu Wardeh was a regular regional commentator and guest on the Radio 4 programme Four Corners, and BBC World’s Dateline London.

 

She has written opinion pieces for Forbes Arabia and has taught media courses at Zayed University in the UAE as a visiting lecturer.

 

Abu Wardeh’s passion for empowering people, saw her create UAE Saves Week to enable people to change their daily behaviour with money and set them on the path to financial empowerment and their own sustainability. Her initiative trended on Twitter. She writes about money and life as a weekly columnist with The National, the UAE’s flagship newspaper. She has a special interest in behavioural economics.

 

Abu Wardeh currently sits on the Advisory Board of the University of Surrey’s GSA and has previously served on the Arab Thought Foundation’s Advisory Committee and was a board member of the World Congress for History Producers.

 

She was named New Arab Woman Forum’s WOW media award winner for 2013, and was awarded the Women and Entrepreneur Leadership Award in 2014 by the World Women Leadership Congress.
