Biography

Mayada was selected by the French Foreign Ministry to represent Sudanese youth at the Paris Conference for Sudan in 2021, where she addressed French President Emmanuel Macron and emphasized the important role of the youth in facilitating a democratic transition and enacting political and economic change. Mayada has also represented Sudanese women at the Generation Equality Forum, where she addressed the importance of integrating immigrant women and youth in societies and communities across France, afterwards she took part in advising the higher Presidential council for Africa and the French President in initiating the House of the African Diaspora in France. She participated in shifting the narratives of the diplomatic relations in Franco-African summit and articulated the needs of the African youth in France-Africa New Partnership 2023.

Under her role as UN Young Leader selected by August 2022, she represented the Youth in many high-level meetings, conferences, like, The High level Opening of the SDG Summit in United Nation General Assembly 78 session where she addressed the world leaders about women’s rights, peace and security, and demanded climate action and more youth participation in governmental level, she also addressed the member states in International Dialogue on Migrations by IOM in UN HQ NY March 2023 to build stronger partnerships and create multisectoral policies and instruments that better address the needs of migrants, and support their agency towards sustainable development. And she delivered excellent remarks on behalf of the youth in ECOSOC Youth Forum 2023 in high level ministerial roundtable, her contribution in ESCWA Lebanon and leading the Arab region sessions where she addressed the needs and demands of Arab youth from the Middle East in Lebanon and New York.

Due to her strong leadership, she was invited to represent the civil society in the UN Security Council on the special session on Sudan and South Sudan 12th Sep 2023.
