Dr. Margarete Schramboeck is an experienced and progressive business & government leader. Combining both, profound experience as a CEO in digital corporates and as a Minister in the public sector, she is a successful businesswoman in the Middle East today.
As Austria’s Minister for Digital & Economic Affairs she was leading the country’s digital and economic transformation for many years. She also acted as head of the European Trade and Competitive council in 2018.
Prior to her role as a minister, Dr. Margarete worked 22 years in the IT and Telekom industry in senior management roles. Her 15 years of experience as IT CEO culminated in leading Austria‘s largest Telekom Operator A1. Other stages of her career were in Alcatel and NTT. She has guided numerous transformation processes and is now focusing on the opportunities of AI.
Hence, she is able to share a deep understanding of the corporate and public sector in an international context. Today she lives in Saudi-Arabia and contributes to the Kingdom‘s fast and impressive transformation.
She acts as a board member of Aramco Digital, a 1.9 billion investment of Aramco. She also holds board functions in biotech and high tech-industrial companies around the world and acts as a personal advisor.
