Judy Murray is a Scottish tennis coach, a former captain of Great Britain’s Fed Cup team and one of the most influential and inspiring voices in the sport. In one of the most remarkable of tennis tales, two boys from Dunblane, a small town in Perthshire, went on to win Grand Slam titles, and they were both Judy’s children Her youngest son Andy has won Olympic, US Open and Wimbledon titles, and has been ranked number 1 in the world While Jamie, her elder child, has won three Grand Slam mixed doubles titles, two Grand Slam men’s doubles titles and in April 2016 he became the first British player to reach number 1 in the world Herself a former player Judy was the tartan Chris Evert of her time, if you like, winning 64 Scottish girls and women’s titles as well as the British Hard Court Doubles Championships in 1981 the same year that she represented Great Britain at the World Student Games Judy is respected for her intelligence, creativity and insight.

She started as a volunteer coach at her local club and has had experience of every aspect of tennis, from showing beginners how to swing a racquet for the first time, to the terrors and pleasures of watching her offspring compete in Wimbledon finals For 10 years, Judy was the National Coach of Scotland, and was the first woman to receive the Lawn Tennis Association’s Performance Coach Award, while she initiated the Scottish Development Squad programme, which
ultimately produced four Davis Cup players, including her sons, and one Fed Cup player After all of her years in tennis, Judy’s passion for the sport endures She has created and developed a number of initiatives to grow the game and in particular to encourage more girls to play, as well as supporting female coaches and promoting the women’s game.

Also, known in Britain for her appearance in the ballroom dancing reality television show, Strictly Come Dancing, Judy is much in demand around the world as a speaker.

Judy’s insight, fortitude, enthusiasm and humour come through in her public speaking She has captivated, moved and inspired audiences around the world, including in Mexico, Australia, the United States, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Canada and Great Britain, with those appearances coming at tennis coaching conferences, dinners, and seminars for sports executives, as well as at TED Talks.

‘Judy was magic That lovely balance between telling the inside story on the events we knew about, and also letting us right inside the stuff we didn’t It’s not only an amazing story, it’s told so brilliantly It’s not really about tennis it’s about drive, parenting, adversity, passion and life and it’s all bundled up in the most elegantly modest yet gripping package of story telling I’ve come across.' Ellis Watson, Executive Chairman DC Thomson Media and Brightsolid
‘It was definitely a highlight listening to Judy and even more so, an inspiration As an aspiring twenty year old female tennis coach it was so motivating to hear Judy speak at Kings of Tennis The way she expressed herself and walked us through her journey as a coach, and also a mum, gave a new and exciting perspective from which I believe can and will inspire many coaches, females and males, both old and young, to strive in their careers I would also make a point to emphasise the importance of female role models in sport, not only among the players but coaches as well, and for me she is the epitome of a role model, someone to look up to and be inspired by.'
