Gordon Hewitt has been part of the core faculty at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, for over twenty years. His sessions there on competitive strategy and corporate transformation have consistently earned the highest ratings of all the senior executive courses.
Hewitt’s research, teaching and advisory interests cover global competition, business strategy and innovation, and the value added of executive leadership. His work over the last two decades, often in partnership with the late CK Prahalad, has been at the leading edge of thinking about corporate value-creation and corporate governance in the new world economy.
As an adviser, he has extensive experience for over 25 years of working at CEO and Board level with many major corporations. He has been involved in business strategy and top leadership programmes for corporations such as Pfizer, Philips, Shell, IBM, Sony, Honeywell, MBNA, Verizon, Ericsson, Intel, Bosch, Diageo, HSBC, Deutsche Post/DHL, Investcorp, Time Warner, Humana, Biocon, and Vodafone.
Hewitt is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s leading authorities on the challenge facing business leaders of competing and creating value in dynamic, complex markets. He developed many of the original ideas about “game-changing strategy”, and the economics of “competitive disruption”.
Hewitt has served as a member of the International Advisory Board of Scottish Enterprise. He was also Chairman of Court, the Governing Board, at the University of Abertay Dundee from 2003 to 2010. He is a member of Pfizer’s Global R&D Innovation Council, and an Advisory Director of Mobiquity, a leading global digital technology company.
"Many of your concepts have stuck with me which is sometimes unusual for conference goers. You make an impact."
