Dame DeAnne is a widely experienced global board director, built on an early career as a corporate economist and public policy maker. She was a founding member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England and she subsequently served on its Court.
Prior to joining the MPC, she worked in the private sector as Chief Economist at British Airways and Shell. Her non-executive directorships have included BP, where she chaired the remuneration committee; Roche, where she chaired the audit committee; Serco, where she was the SID; Jones Lang LaSalle, Lloyds Bank and Deloitte UK.
As Chairman of Chatham House (2003-2012) she led its ascent to become the top-ranked international policy think-tank in Europe. While Chair of University College London (2014-2019), UCL joined the list of the world’s top ten universities.
Dame DeAnne is now a Distinguished Fellow at Chatham House where she writes and speaks on international economic and geopolitical issues.
