Charles Shima – Keynote Speaker

Charles Shima is a Rwandan-Canadian founder and CEO of ZaNiheza, a booking software and Africa’s first travel marketplace for immersive experiences that connects travellers with Local Curators in Africa and Latin America. Shima is an inspirational speak who has tremendous and monumental life experiences. An orphan who lost his parents at a vulnerable age, he fled Rwanda in 1994 during the Genocide Against the Tutsi. Charles Shima would return to his motherland after 24 years, gathering up the courage to give back to his community.

Mr. Charles Shima is passionate about empowering vulnerable youth and women across Africa. He is an advocate for changing the negative narratives of Africa through travel and content creation. He has been featured on various media such as CBC Radio Canada, Forbes Africa, VOA Upfront Africa, Vancouver Digital Tech, NBC Africa. A passionate traveller and local food enthusiast, he still cannot forget his first taste of chicken sashimi in Japan.
