Since June 2025, Benedikt Böhm has been the CEO of Lupine, the premium German manufacturer of headlamps and bike lights – “Made in Germany.” Prior to that, he led the brand Dynafit for over 22 years, transforming it from insolvency into the global market leader in ski touring equipment. At Lupine, his goal is to make the brand synonymous with the most powerful light in the wild. In addition to his CEO role, Bohm is also a renowned extreme ski mountaineer. In his powerful keynotes, he builds a bridge between the so-called “death zone” at high altitudes and the high-stakes challenges of the business world. “Shaping Leaders” – Böhm demonstrates how clarity, courage, risk ma-nagement, and responsibility emerge under extreme conditions and how they redefine true leadership.
He studied in the US and the UK, but the most valuable insights for his leadership journey came from life on the edge – where decisions often mean the difference between life and death. Böhm is also a WWF ambassador and founder of Helping Band, a brand committed to protecting and expanding nature and marine conservation areas.
Benedikt Böhm’s speeches are marked by breathtaking imagery and compelling video clips, featuring rare footage from the world’s highest mountains. He offers a unique perspective on business, drawing from his experience as an extreme sportsman and CEO of a leading global sporting goods brand. The brilliant and unique integration of his insights from the extreme world with the business realm makes Benedikt Böhm a sought-after speaker and trainer internationally.
Böhm not only climbs 8,000-meter peaks without supplemental oxygen or outside aid; he in fact does so extremely fast, using what is called “speed style.” With this uncom-promising, speed-oriented style of taking on the highest peaks, the focus is on the clock in order to limit the risk of too much time spent in the “death zone.” Böhm climbs fast and light without much of any kind of pack in one non-stop push directly from the foot of the mountain to the summit, and then back again on skis. This is done inside of a self-defi ned space of time (for example, 17 hours up and down Gasherbrum Il and its 8,035 meters, or 23.5 hours for Manaslu, which with 8,163 meters is the eighth-highest mountain on the planet). This kind of speed ascent is a radical deviation from high-al-titude mountaineering where this type of expedition would normally take 3 to 5 days.
It demands absolute precision and preparation to the nth degree to conquer such a monster in such a short period of time. A part of this i an unbelievable training load and massive discipline. But it also demands the creativity to develop new technology, the courage to think a little differently, and also the readiness to take action.
