Biography

Yvan Bourgnon is a Swiss Skipper who was born in La Chaux-de-Fonds. From the age of eight his passion for sailing began when he sailed with his parents for a world tour that lasted nearly four years.

He also tutored skipper Ellen Macarthur who was his co-skipper for many years.

His career began in 1995 by winning an unprecedented treble Mini Fastnet. Since then, he has won many races: world record for the crossing of the Mediterranean in 2010, world record 24 sport catamaran at the Linxéa challenge in 2012, and the challenge Terresens by becoming the first to cross the passage of Cape Horn on a sport catamaran.

On October 5, 2013, he sailed from Sables d’Olonne with Vincent Beauvarlet for a round the world “old” on a sport catamaran 6.30 m deemed unthinkable. No support, no weather information and no GPS only a satellite phone and traditional cards.

Yvan Bourgnon shares his experience as a speaker involving subjects related to the world of business. He focuses his speech on various themes such as: coaching, risk management, success and anticipation.
