With 15 years in the broadcast industry, Wan Zaleha has had extensive experience in broadcast journalism, anchoring the news, presenting and producing TV programmes and documentaries. She has become one of Malaysia’s most recognised and respected TV personalities and sought after emcee and moderator.
She made her mark helmingTV3 Malaysia’s highly rated, groundbreaking news magazine programme, Majalah 3, and anchoring the Malay language main news bulletin, and the English News. Upon leaving, she continued to independently moderate and presentprogrammes, such as current affairstalk show, Dateline Malaysia, magazine programmes, YMI? (Young Malaysians Inc.) Positively A.M., hosted and was episode producer for magazine programme, Malaysia’s Aspirations and Achievements, Defining Moments, and presented and moderated business programme, Money Tree, and IT programme, MSC Online.
At the same time she pursued her sporting goal of representing Malaysia in the South East Asian and Asian Games in equestrian dressage where the team won a silver medal and bronze medals. She was also equestrian Team Manager for the medal winning Malaysian team at the Guangzhou Asian Games.
Wan Zaleha’s other pursuits include emceeing high profile events such as the World Islamic Economic Forum, Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, F1 Gala Dinners, Special Address-President Bill Clinton, Special Luncheon Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Asean Business Club Launch, KL Business Club Functions, the Sime Darby and Khazanah Nasional Lecture Series, Proton’s 25th Anniversary Gala, the Aids Gala, Axiata Young Talent Programme, Perdana Leadership Foundation’s War Crimes and Global Peace Forums, the Sultan Mizan Cup FEI International Endurance Championship, to name a few. She has also moderated on the arts at the WIEF Young Leaders Forum in Kazakhstan, International Football Arena’s ‘Business of Football’ Forum and the International Sports Industry Convention, Malaysia.
Wan Zaleha, together with her husband, Peter Imran Winton, conceptualised the CSI 5 Star KL Grand Prix, the first major international equestrian competition in the Asia-Pacific. Together they led the Asiapromote team that won the bid to stage the 2006 FEI World Cup Jumping Final in Kuala Lumpur – the first ever Final to be held outside Europe and the US. The 2007 CSI 5 Star KL Grand Prix,won a bronze medal at the International SportBusiness Awards held in London.
She is currently the Managing Director of Asiapromote Ventures Sdn Bhd, international event specialist, and the Malaysian promoter for “The Merchants of Bollywood”, Ben 10 Live on Stage – Power of the Omnitrix and ‘Horsemania’ Equestrian Theatre.
She practices Aikido, is exploring yoga, loves to be surrounded by nature and being outdoors, and is passionate about the arts, preserving the environment, health and fitness.
