Tapiwa is the founder and managing director of Omnien, a technology company he built from the ground up. Before founding Omnien, he spent seven years at IBM, where he held multiple leadership roles, including co-leading IBM’s Global Technology Outlook, serving as program director for ecosystems, and leading AI and quantum computing teams at IBM Research Africa. His work at IBM earned him the prestigious Outstanding Technical Accomplishment award and GTO Leadership award.
Before IBM, Tapiwa worked as a senior engineer at the CSIR in the Mechatronics and Micromanufacturing group and as a full-stack developer at 5DT, developing commercial products used worldwide.
