René Mijnders is the most successful Dutch rowing coach of all time. He is responsible for over 40 medals won at World Championships and Olympic Games.
He has remained at the top of this extremely competitve sport for more than 20 years. At every Olympic Games, from 1988 till 2008, his teams have returned home with a medal.
An absolute highlight was the gold medal for the Dutch men’s eight at the Olympics in Atlanta 1996. In 2008 René Mijnders was the coach of the Dutch women’s eight who took the silver at the Olympics in Beijing.
Rene Mijnders is also is a former Head Coach for the Swiss Rowing Federation (2005 and 2006) and prepared Oxford for the Boat Race against Cambridge in 1997.
Besides being a national team coach Rene Mijnders speaks at conferences and events, combining the knowledge he gains from both sports and business.
