Raj Biyani, a 17-year veteran of the Microsoft Corporation, is the former Managing Director of Microsoft IT India. Under Biyani’s stewardship the Microsoft IT India’s leadership index improved from 51% to 99%.
Raj Biyani is a tireless advocate for increasing the value-add and impact of multinational corporations (MNCs) operating in India. He has co-produced a documentary for CNBC featuring MNC leaders in India, ‘Inventing the Zero, Reaching for Infinity: The Story of India and its IT Industry’.
Before relocating to India, Biyani worked on several engineering teams within the Microsoft product groups, including the Windows Marketplace team. As General Manager in Microsoft IT, Biyani helped to shape Microsoft IT’s cloud strategy. Biyani outlined his learnings in a book he co-authored, ‘To the Cloud: Cloud Powering an Enterprise’.
During his 17 years at Microsoft Biyani was awarded several US patents and one EU patent. He established himself as a thought leader by authoring and co-authoring ten ‘Think Week’ papers for Bill Gates.
Raj Biyani is currently an Advisory Board Member for Mobilize.Net, a Seattle based start-up. He is also a mentor and coach to business leaders in India and the US.
Biyani holds an MBA with honours from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
