Biography

Nisha Millet is a swimmer from Bangalore, India. An Arjuna Award winner, Millet was the only woman in the 2000 Sydney Olympics swim team for India. Millet has won more than 600 gold medals at State, National and International Meets. She has represented India at the world swimming championships (1998 and 2004) & Asian Games(1998) and was the first Indian to qualify for swimming at the Olympics in the 200 meter freestyle (Sydney 2000). Millet has won the highest number of individual medals by any Indian athlete at a national event and has 14 gold medals at the Manipur National games.

Now Director & head coach of Nisha Millet’s Swimming Academy which has 12 centres and a team of 25 coaches around Bangalore. The academy, led by Nisha and her husband Bikranjit, has trained over 6,000 swimmers of all ages last year alone(ages 1 – 84 years).

Nisha Millet is also a Brand consultant for Speedo swimwear in India and liaison for Speedo’s athlete sponsorship program and a founding member of the Bangalore Political Action committee along with Mohandas Pai, Kiran Majumdar Shaw. Moreover, she has also conducted corporate motivational programmes at Ernst & Young, HCL,Target, Infosys and Accenture and she is now training 5 athletes to represent India In the Half Ironman world Championships in 2020 in New Zealand.

Nisha Millet is a mother of 6 year old twin girls (Adele and Ariana) who are doing equally well in both gymnastics and swimming and she has her sights already set on the 2032 Olympics for them! She is an avid crossfitter and runner and starts her day off with a 5am workout 6 days a week,placing in the top 5 – 10 in her age group in 10km events & half marathons in Bangalore.
