Markus Albers is author, consultant and entrepreneur and deals with the new world of work and change through technology for many years.
After completing his master’s degree in Political Science, Philosophy and Communication Science, he worked as a journalist in various – often leading – positions in major national media. Markus Albers was editor at Welt am Sonntag and SZ Magazin, department head of Tomorrow magazine, Berlin correspondent for the British magazine Monocle and managing editor of Vanity Fair Germany. As an author he has worked for NDR television and various radio stations, as well as for renowned print titles – his texts have appeared in Brand Eins, Die Zeit, GQ, AD, Spiegel and Stern. Today he writes the column “Flight Mode” for the magazine Lufthansa Exclusive.
Since 2010, he has been co-founder and managing partner of Rethink GmbH, which develops cross-platform media content and advises companies on communication strategy and brand positioning. In 2015 he founded Neuwork, a network of experts on the subject of new work. Now he is Executive Director Consulting at C3 Creative Code and Content.
Markus Albers is a member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a guest lecturer at ESCP Business School, and emeritus board member of the Future of Work department of the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW).
In his agency roles he has worked with clients such as Lufthansa, Volkswagen, PWC, Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Bosch, Vodafone, Commerzbank, RolandBerger, Deutsche Bank, NXP, and Mazars.
His books “Meconomy”, “Rethinking Luxury” and the business bestseller “Morgen komm ich später rein” have been widely discussed and translated into five languages.
