Jon Ingold is the co-founder and narrative director of inkle, a developer of narrative games in the UK. Over the last fifteen years, they’ve designed and developed over fifteen games that have pushed the boundaries of storytelling in the interactive medium, both independently and with partners like Google Arts & Culture.
The studio has earned over seven BAFTA nominations and had their work featured by the Tribeca, Calgary and London Film Festivals, and permanently collected by the British Library. Jon has won the Writer’s Guild of Great Britain’s award for video game writing three times.
Known as an insightful and intelligent speaker, Jon has lectured on the craft of narrative game design and writing for games at the international Game Developer’s Conference in Cologne, Shanghai and San Francisco, and his talks are used for professional development in major game studios around the world. He was invited to give a seminar to Cambridge University’s Archaeology department about the depiction of archaeology in their game Heaven’s Vault and to speak at the FT’s Weekend event about games as culture.
