Biography

Jenny Campbell is an ex-career banker turned entrepreneur and business turnaround specialist. She is also the Founder of YourCash Europe, a pan European business that provides cash machines to the retail market.

Born into a business-orientated family of bankers, builders and printers Jenny hasn’t stood still since she was young. Shunning further formal education at the age of 16, Jenny began her working life counting cash in a bank branch. She rapidly developed her career in the banking fraternity and by the age of 23 had completed her banking qualifications and been awarded a Chartered Institute of Bankers prize. Following thirty years in banking, where her role included playing a vital part in the integration of NatWest into the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Jenny left the banking world in pursuit of a new challenge – to turn around a failing cash machine business owned by RBS. Jenny joined Hanco ATM Systems in 2006 as Director of Operations and launched a major operational restructure of Hanco. Within a few years the business became profitable and started to thrive across new European territories. In 2010 she relaunched the business as YourCash Europe and the cash machine company quickly expanded to become a leading provider of ATMs to the European retail market. Ten years on from taking the business under her wing, Jenny Campbell sold YourCash in October 2016 to a US business quoted on the New York Stock Exchange.

Winner of a number of industry prizes and 2014’s Business Woman of the Year, Jenny uses her spare time wisely, helping young people realise their potential. She works closely with Young Enterprise to help children and teenagers harness their entrepreneurial spirit. In 2011, Jenny also mentored and hired two apprentices through the New Entrepreneurs Foundation who have now gone on to successfully set up their own businesses. Now sharing her business experience with hopeful entrepreneurs in the BBC’s fifteenth series of Dragons’ Den, Jenny brings feisty northern grit to the panel, sticking true to her favourite business motto- “live by corporate standards, but breathe like an entrepreneur”.

Jenny is married with two grown up sons, one of which owns the successful Indian restaurant chain Kricket. In her spare time she breeds and shows Flat Coated Retrievers at champion level and is also an accredited breed judge.
