Imtiaz Ali is a well-known Indian director.
He has said that his greatest impact on his work is observing the general public that he meets. “To be a decent storyteller one should be a sharp spectator of life.”
In 2005, he made his directorial debut with the movie Socha Na Tha. But it was his second film Jab We Met (2007) that brought him achievement and notoriety. His 2009 film Love Aaj Kalwas named a major hit in the cinematic world.
He has won Filmfare grants since 2007 for Best Dialog, Best Director and Best Story.
