Hannah Fry’s research applies to a wide range of social problems and questions, from shopping and transport to urban crime, riots and terrorism. She is a mathematician, a best-selling author, an award winning science presenter and the host of numerous popular podcasts and television shows.

In 2023 new series The Future with Hannah Fry launched on Bloomberg in February bringing her signature intellectual heft and insight, peppered with her imitable wit to American audiences. The series questions our collective future and what we want it to look like, with the breakthroughs in science and technology that will transform our lives and society, in a way that happens with us rather than to us.

Her recent BBC Two documentary series The Secret Genius of Modern Life received critical acclaim and audience figures and reactions saw her looking at the extraordinary secrets behind the miraculous technologies of the modern world from bank cards, trainers, electric cars and fitness trackers.

Her previous documentaries include City in the Sky, Magic Numbers, The Joy of Winning, The Joy of Data, Unvaccinated, Making Sense of Cancer and the 2018 film Contagion – The BBC Pandemic a massive citizen science experiment aimed to simulate what would happen if a deadly pandemic were to come to UK, a full two years before the predictions came true.

Hannah Fry regularly writes for the New Yorker, and her book, Hello World – How to be human in the age of the machine, was shortlisted for several of the world’s most prestigious non-fiction awards, winning the 2020 Asimov Prize. Through her videos on the Numberphile Youtube channel, her podcasts with DeepMind and her long running radio series The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry, Hannah is known around the world for her joyful ability to bring mathematical ideas to life for audiences of all interests and abilities.
