Biography

Graeme is one of Britain’s leading economists, a visiting professorial head of economic policy and a member of the IEA Shadow Monetary Policy Committee. In early 2025 he will be launching a new macroeconomic and geopolitical advisory firm Global4cast.

Previously he has worked as Director of Economics at the Legatum Institute, examining the sources of prosperity across the globe. He has also worked as a director of Global Futures & Foresight (GFF) researching key economic and future trends. Between 1997 and 2014 he was Chief Economist, Director of Policy and a main board member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) in the UK. At the time the IoD represented around 40,000 business leaders in the UK and Graeme represented the IoD in discussions with the Chancellor of the Exchequer and 10 Downing Street.

Earlier in his career he was both Chief UK Economist and Chief International Economist, at The Henley Centre for Forecasting. He was also Economic Adviser to the Scottish Provident Investment Group.

He is a frequent media commentator having undertaken hundreds of live interviews on BBC News, Sky News and other channels. His public speaking engagements have ranged from 2,000 delegates in the Royal Albert Hall, and 1,000 delegates at the Fixed Income Leaders Summit in Paris, to after dinner speeches and roundtable events. Graeme has spoken at events in 30 countries around the world.
