Ghida Fakhry was New York Bureau Chief for Aljazeera, she covered the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center and its aftermath. She also reported on-location from Iraq and Afghanistan following the US-led invasion in 2003, and conducted in-depth interviews with senior US officials, including Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Ghida has also reported extensively from the UN in New York, covering the Security Council and annual sessions of the General Assembly. She travelled with Secretary-General Kofi Annan throughout the Middle East and Africa, and conducted several in-depth interviews with him throughout his 10-year tenure.

Since 2015 she has been a contributor to the Huffington Post and a regular moderator at global conferences and forums. Ghida has moderated high-level debates on subjects ranging including international relations, human rights, women’s empowerment, sustainable development and renewable energy. She combines a sharp journalistic interviewing style with a distinctive ability to challenge speakers and stimulate discussions.
