Clare Richardson is a leading International News Anchor with more than a decade of experience covering the world’s biggest stories for major news organisations. Clare is also a highly regarded MC and Moderator, working at major conferences and other events requiring specialisms in international affairs, business and technology.
As a News Anchor for Germany’s international public broadcaster Deutsche Welle in Berlin, Clare has presented breaking news coverage of stories including pivotal elections in the United States and Germany, the Middle East Conflict, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Covid-19 pandemic, high-stakes conferences of world leaders, and the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Clare has worked across the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Australia, as a news reporter and documentary filmmaker. As a foreign correspondent she has covered stories including mass shootings across the United States and in New Zealand, elections in Indonesia, and the Trump White House. She has directed short documentary films from the Solomon Islands, Australia, Brazil, and the Philippines for outlets including Deutsche Welle, Business Insider, and BBC Reel.
Born and raised in Palo Alto, California, Clare got her start in journalism more than a decade ago in New York, where she worked as the world news editor for The Huffington Post in its start-up days. She later worked as the world section editor of Reuters.com and has taught journalism as a Lecturer at the University of Melbourne in Australia.
