Biography

Christian De Boissieu is a leading French economist, and Professor of Monetary and Financial Economics at the Sorbonne, University of Paris, where he is Director of the Masters Degree in Banking and Finance.

He was the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, advising the French Prime Minister, from 2003-12.

He is also a former consultant to the World Bank, the European Commission and the European Parliament and was economic advisor to the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1986-2011.

He is a former consultant to the World Bank and to the European Commission, and was in charge of the TACIS program mission in Russia on domestic arrears, monetary policy and banking regulation. In 2007, he was appointed a member of the Attali Commission, in charge of proposing economic reforms and boosting economic growth in France.
