Biography

Ben Hunt-Davis won a Gold Medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in the Rowing 8+, this was the culmination of 9 years in the national team. Since then Ben has specialised in leadership and team development, running a successful coaching business who’s clients have included many FTSE 100 companies. Ben has delivered many keynote speeches and designed and implemented many development programmes.

In 2008 Ben Hunt-Davis worked as part of the HQ Staff for Team GB at the Beijing Olympics. From 2009 to mid 2011 he worked for the British Olympic Association as the 2012 Project Director and then Head of Athlete Engagement where he set up an education programme designed to ensure that Athletes and Support Staff are ready to perform at their best on the biggest stage of their lives, the London Olympics 2012. Ben is continuing to work for the BOA as a consultant, this will include a full time role with Team GB during the 2012 Games.

Ben Hunt-Davis was Chairman of the Organising Committee for the 2011 World Rowing Junior Championships, a 2012 Test event. This voluntary role included setting the vision and direction for the event and over seeing the 2 ½ years of preparation. During the event Ben was responsible for the 600 or so competitors from 48 countries, the 540 volunteers on site as well as all the spectators.

Ben’s Olympic experiences; competing, being part of a Games HQ Team, setting up a home advantage programme, working along side the London 2012 and running a test event, give him an absolutely unique insight to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Ben’s first book ‘Will It Make The Boat Go Faster’ was published in June 2011.
