Barbara Serra is an Italian-British journalist and author. She’s been a Sky News presenter since 2023, regularly anchoring the flagship evening programme ‘News at 10’ and the Press Preview. From 2006 to 2022 Serra presented the main European Newshour for Al Jazeera English, where she also reported from across Europe and the Middle East.
In 2019 Barbara Serra was made a Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy by the Italian President for her journalism.
Her 2020 documentary ‘Fascism in the Family’ won gold for both the History and Current affairs categories at the New York Festivals TV and Film categories. Her book ‘Fascismo in Famiglia’ was published in Italy in April 2025.
She writes the newsletter “News with a foreign accent” which analyses the impact of using English as the global language on international news.
