Biography

Anuradha Vaidyanathan is the first Asian to have competed in Ultraman Canada triathlon (a 10km swim, 420km bike and an 84.4km run), finishing in 6th place. Three weeks later, she participated in Ironman Canada becoming the only athlete to do so in the history of the race. Triathlon is an arduous sport involving swimming, cycling and running. Anuradha specialises in the half- Ironman (1.9K swim, 90K bike, 21.2K run) and Ironman length (3.8K swim, 180K bike, 42.2K run) events, which are amongst the most difficult, single-day endurance events in the world. Having competed all over the world, Anuradha was also the only Indian triathlete to have qualified for the Half-Ironman 70.3 Clearwater World Championship in 2008.

 

Besides being an award-winning athlete, Anuradha is an entrepreneur, a sought-after speaker on topics which include sport, entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership. She is the Founder of PatNMarks, an Intellectual Property Consulting Firm.

 

Anuradha Vaidyanathan received her PhD in Electrical Engineering in a record-breaking time of 26 months from UC Canterbury. She has been affiliated with both the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar and the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad teaching courses in Computer Architecture, Innovation and Business Policy.

 

Anuradha’s first book, the memoir ‘Anywhere But Home: Adventures in Endurance’ was published in 2016.

 

She has written and contributed to articles on the themes of sport, technology and the evolution of IP valuation.
