Amitabh Bachchan is one of the best stars Bollywood has ever had; he was the star of the 70s and 80s, and has remained pertinent to the present era of motion picture goers.
Bachchan began by featuring in Hindi motion pictures, and then went on to act in Malayalam and English motion pictures. With stellar performances in motion pictures such as Deewar and Zanjeer, he came to be known as the “angry young man” of the Hindi silver screen.
He has received three ‘National Film Awards’, with Tamil and Hindi film on-screen character Kamal Hassan, and Malayalam on-screen character Mammootty. The Government of India has presented him with accolades such as the ‘Padma Shri’, ‘Padma Bhushan’ and ‘Padma Vibhushan’, for his extraordinary commitment to world’s silver screen.
