Having graduated from HEC Paris, Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS) and Sorbonne Paris IV (Art History), Alexandre Cadain has since worked on the Hyperloop project in Los Angeles and is an ambassador for the XPRIZE Foundation.
He is an entrepreneur exploring ways for radical and inclusive progress through technologies, especially artificial intelligence.
Passionate about arts and technology, he believes we live in an “Intelligence Renaissance”, an unprecedented time in which we own the knowledge and technology to solve the greatest challenges but still lack radical visions and powerful imagination to reboot a common desire to build better futures for all.
Alexandre Cadain is the co-founder and CEO of Anima.ai, a Moonshot Studio combining arts and science to design bold projects and help organisations, from UN agencies to Daimler-Mercedes or Space Agencies like CNES, to design and build the next breakthrough for urgent global challenges, such as climate change or lifelong learning.
From 2016 to 2019 he co-led with Béatrice Joyeux-Prunel the Post-Digital research seminar at ENS in partnership with ENSBA, exploring the future impacts of our digital era, through an interdisciplinary methodology, bringing art and sciences together.
Since 2017, Cadain is a member of the AI FOR GOOD commission at the United Nations, led by ITU, being a rapporteur for the Future of Work, a co-lead for Sustainable Cities and Communities and the cochair of « Scaling AI for Good ». He is also an ambassador for the XPRIZE Foundation in Europe, especially helping with the AI and the Avatar Prizes.
Before that, he worked with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, connecting external research labs to the supersonic transportation goal of the company.
In 2019, he launched with Anima the AI COMMONS, a collaboration framework aiming at democratising the promise of AI to enable anyone, anywhere, to share and access AI resources (data, algorithms, computing power) and address the world’s greatest challenges together.
Alexandre Cadain is also a professor at HEC Paris for the Master in Sustainability and Social Innovation, leading a program on the Future of Economics that he created in 2017.
In 2017, Vanity Fair selected Alexandre Cadain as one of the 30 under 30 most influential French people for being a “visionary”.
