As the skipper of the yacht “Quadstone” in the 2000 BT Global Challenge, known as “The World’s Toughest Yacht Race”, Alex Phillips developed a group of amateurs into a high-performing team and led them to victory against the odds through some of the harshest conditions on the planet.
Alex specialises in helping her clients get the best out of their people and teams through effective leadership and communication. Her relaxed, yet focused approach enables her clients to build the confidence to rise to the challenges they are facing in their business lives.
Her extensive ability and experience gained by working with amateur teams throughout her seventeen years at sea, has been readily transferred into the business world. It was a natural progression to move from high-profile yacht racing into the field of one-to-one coaching and training – she is passionate about helping people achieve their dreams.
Alex is a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, a SDI (Strength Deployment Inventory) Facilitator, and holds the British Psychological Society Level A qualification in Occupational Testing. In addition, she has trained extensively in the fields of team development, behavioural change, and high performance coaching. In her spare time, she is now a gliding instructor, and also flies her own glider cross-country.
