Interview with Mick Mulvaney – Recent Chief of Staff, President of the United States

John “Mick” Mulvaney has held several important White House roles throughout his career. He was the Senior Advisor and Acting Chief of Staff to the President of the United States (December 2018 – March 2020), Director of the Office of Management and Budget (February 2017-March 2020) and United States Special Envoy for Northern Ireland.

Mick Mulvaney Keynote SpeakerAs Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Mick Mulvaney had huge roles and responsibilities within the administration, not least overseeing the preparation and presentation of three federal budgets of approximately US$1.2 trillion each. As Acting Chief of Staff to the President of the United States, his remit covered managing a 4000-person Executive Office including the National Security Council, the Council of Economic Advisers, the Office of Trade & Manufacturing Policy and the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Now that Mick has moved away from the White House, we were given the opportunity to ask him a few questions, including his thoughts on the last few years in American politics and to see what might be next for him in 2021.
